Well, I went to three locations and got drenched starting at 6am. Found nada besides some wheats and junque. I almost went home but tried a fourth spot. I've had this place marked for two years but never went...but within 5 minutes I found the foundation... Found a few goodies there including this buckle. I don't believe it's a neck stock buckle but instead a suspended buckle~mid 19th C. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1468083001.031296.jpg

Also snagged an LC. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1468082907.577851.jpg

I later found out it had a "2" counterstamped....

I was cold, had two soakers, but had a great time.

Enjoy your weekend, and good luck

Yes, and this is an 1831. 1857 was the last year of largies, and an act of congress that same year called for the usage of large cents to end, and all to be brought in for exchange and melting.

Nice finds Scrappy something strange about the LC?

Strange? I've found probably 3-dozen+ matron head cents and this one doesn't strike me as odd. It's only my 2nd counterstamped one however. Thanks for looking Art.

That counterstamps makes that one sweet large cent man  I'd much rather find one stamped like that any day. Really liking that suspender buckle too. Awesome hunt man.

Nice counterstamped LC. I've only ever found one. We got rained out today. Ended up in the middle of a thunderstorm. Had to call it a day.

It wasn't looking so good when I was leaving my second site as you could tell from my text. Funny how things turn around bro

I fed a ton of skizzers today. I'm itching my ass off and my wife is pissed because she doesn't believe I was wearing big spray. Lol
