My first park I hit today for about 2 hours had a total of 41 coins and one wheat cent. Only one old coin for two hours work was not a good sign, so I decided to drive to the other side of town and hit a median strip I've hunted a lot in the past.

This is a 1/2 mile long median strip is a spot that I've pounded at least 2 dozen times over the years. I thought it would be a long shot to find anything good after all
the detector sweeping I've done there. I worked it for about 3 hours and still dug out out about 10 more coins! 3 were wheat pennies, 2 silver Roosevelt dimes, and my
first sterling silver pocket watch! I've probably dug 30 pockets watches over the years, most of which were made of brass and in pieces. Today's silver one was a first!

I tried to open the watch and it's frozen shut. I'd like to know who the maker is and how old it is?

Excellent digs, love the pocket watch. I've found sterling pocket watch backs before, but never the whole watch.

Great watch! You never know till you put your coil over it. I found a very similar one with a bull on the back. It has the same edge. Mine has a bull on the back:) great hunt, nice to find coins!

Great finds, and greater post! I'll be watching that banner. I haven't dug a whole sterling pocket watch yet... Usually just the guts. D'oh!
