🥇 BANNER Found my first gold coin

Got out this morning before the sun came up. Went to a small woods lot where I've found a few coins in the past. Got an iffy signal at 5 inches and pulled this 5 dollar gold piece out. Searched for 2 more hours and no more coins. It was getting hot by then so headed home a very happy man.

I would broaden your search. Depending on when it burned, the site may have been pushed around with a piece of equipment...might be more scattered.

Congrats on your first gold coin! Maybe an old house burnt down in those woods. The coin does look like it was exposed to heat. At least it wasn't melted or deformed.

The light conditions were so poor, I didn't know what I had for a few minutes, when I saw the Indian I was pretty sure what it was. It was kind of disbelief.

When my buddy found the gold dollar I really never thought I would find a gold coin, but you never know what the next swing will give you. Good luck
