I went back to one of my school yards but only found 2 quarters, a few pennies and my second Chucky Cheese token. After striking out there, I decided to go check out our old homestead site since we had another heavy rain to settle the dirt. I didn't find a great deal but what I found was interesting. First I found a dime sized ceramic button. The previous ones I've found were much smaller. Next I found a fresh water mussel shell. What intrigued me the most about the shell was my prior finds of 2 home made buttons made from shell. If you look closely at the shell it has been intentionally cut by someone. Makes me wonder if the buttons came from this shell. Next I found an Auger and some kind of small figurine. I have no idea what the figurine is. It looks like it has the letter "E" stamped on the back. If anyone has any info on it please feel free to enlighten me. Thanks for reading and HH! 2016-07-27 22.07.48.jpg 20160727_203945.jpg 20160727_204230.jpg 20160727_230213.jpg 20160726_141308.jpg 2016-07-26 14.24.18.png 20160726_145653.jpg 20160726_145853.jpg

Wow. Those shell buttons are cool! I think your right about the actual shell being used to make the buttons.
I would display them together.
I think the little figurine is an old doll house doll, but not for sure.

Nice finds. That shell would make a nice "display case" for some jewelry that you may have found. Throw a little sand in it, add a ring or two and you have an insta beach .

Thanks, BagLady. I think the homemade shell buttons are really neat. You are right. I need to get some kind of.display box to put them in with the shell. Glad you like them.

There's got to be more goodies where that came from. Congrats and keep it up!
