Haven't been out in over months. It was really hot and humid and everywhere was way overgrown. One field had a trail mowed around the parameter so we detected it. Had a very faint high tone on the AT Pro and no numbers showing. Found a porcelain button and this in the hole about 8 inches down. It's about the diameter of a u.s nickel and I believe it to be gold plated. If anyone has a maker or time frame I would be very interested to know. I cannot find a makers mark and the site has yielded lots of CW items. The backing was intact but all the walking and jarring around loosened it up. The last picture was prior to cleaning. It came out looking nice and gold like.

Nice find. It looks gold filled which is thicker than plating. Congrats.

The lyre design makes me think that it's part of a band uniform.

Wow...what an AWESOME find! Sometimes with my ATP, I will get a high, repeatable chirp with no number or indication of depth, and am sometimes rewarded with a trinket, usually deep...my last being my FIRST Buffalo at 8-9 inches..in dry ground. Great post, thanks very much for sharing...ddf
