The Track-Way - Day 4...

Solo hunt of 6 hours & still a small area left to finish!

But today was the first time the clues added up & made sense. Spanning each side of the Roman Track-way is another large Early Saxon settlement - AD450-600. It forms a triangle of 3 Sites from this very rare period to discover. 2 migration period Settlements of roughly 100-200 people follow different Roman Track-ways to the 3rd area on 'The Hill' Site. This smaller area, is either another settlement or the burial area. Not sure yet. If this were Time-Team it would be a major discovery.

Anyone know what the brass fire hose looking thing is? Maybe part of a plane?

Neolithic - Present
Bronze Age - Industrial Metal Working Site
Iron Age - None
Roman - 2 small Farms
Early Saxon (AD450-600) - Present
Middle Saxon - Nearly disappeared, probably not living but pass through (Track-way)
Late Saxon - probably not living but pass through
Viking - probably not living but pass through
Medieval - probably not living but pass through
Georgian - Built a farm house
Today - No farm house & no-one living there.

The date is about what I guessed with Dad, I'm thinking about 100 years old.

That puzzles together now. You cant get that much information out of a field without many hrs using your eyes and a metal detector. Great work you do there!
