This summer I've been very fortunate to be able to try my hand at detecting in the old lake that I grew up on (and where my Mom still lives). Over the summer I've found a pile of clad, a couple of wheats, a token, a plated St. Anthony pendant and a couple of silver rings (one that I posted about a few weeks back). It's been fun learning how to use the long handle scoop and how to use my feet to guide where I dig.
On Saturday I made what might be my last trip of the summer to the lake and spent about 4 hours in the water. I did manage another 87c in clad, but I also found yet another silver ring in neck-deep water. It was dark gray when I pulled it out of the scoop and I recognized it as a spoon ring. It is marked - made by International and is in fact sterling silver. Does anyone know how old the original spoon may be? I see that the company was founded in 1898... And based on the tarnish, it looked like the ring was in the water a long time. Thanks in advance for any insights- and thanks for looking! Silver spoon rings were big in the 70s. Maybe 70s era? Nice Find.

Finding out when it was made would be impossible. Finding when the company made the pattern is not. Very nice piece of silver
