I hit the beach this morning for a couple of hours at a spot me and my buddy Miah have done well at in the past. I started out with finding some old clad then came a few Buffaloes and wheaties. After about an hour and a half I pulled up a silver quarter but it was sooo corroded I couldn't tell what it was. I was really hoping I had my
First SLQ but I didn't get my hopes up. When I got home I set up my electrolysis to clean the crud off the quarter. After it sat in there for about 10 minutes I pulled it out and rubbed it down with baking soda and revealed my first Standing Liberty Quarter! It's in really bad shape but it still counts! Hopefully it won't be another four years before I find my next one!

Also found four 20 MM shells. One has a date on it, 1944.

Last week I found a couple flat buttons and a toasted large cent in a different spot

Your beach must be salt water. Too bad it is so hammered, however like you said it counts. Very nice

I know its in bad shape but I cant make out any stars bellow the eagle. If thats the case, it's from either 1916 or 17. Most likely 1917. Nice finds

I just made mine from a low amperage power cord. Cut of the ends and add a couple alligator clips. I use an old fork as a ground and clip the other end to the coin and put them in a glass bowl of salt water and make sure they don't touch!
