Today I dug a first! I've dug hundreds of silver rings but never a snuff ring! The one I got today opens from the top, it has a little secret compartment for hiding "something"! Cheech & Chong were that comedy team from the 1970's & 80's always making jokes about the "wacky tobacie":tongue3:. The ring I found today would have
been right up their ally. Also dug a merc dime, 6 wheat pennies, and a silver earring. 8-)

Great looking ring....it is also called a poison ring and that style goes all the way back to Egyptian times when it was used for the purpose of doing yourself in in the event of a uprising by your followers or so I've been told.

I agree! This goes to antiquity.

That leaf design on it tells a much different story though!

Considering the motif, I doubt it was snuff being snorted out of there!

Awesome find!
