Looks like one of djm's finds was a b.b. gun target..

Jeff ,the dipper may have been for navigation.
To find the outhouse ,look for the little dipper. (O.k.,bad joke).
An artisan well may have been near for drinking and watering from maybe.
Lime was often scooped and added to reduce odour in outhouses too.

Hello Jeff. A member brought this to my attention. Did you ever determine the significance of the date? It reminded someone of my unidentified medallion and its similar because of the wartime date. However mine has 2 dates but only one name.

No , I couldn't get any other Info.

Jewel being an unusual Name I thought my Nephews Inlaws
would remember if there was a Jewel in that Valley.
especially with the Valley being Sparsely populated with Farms.
Not city.
But no One seems to remember her.

The Property Had Gardens people used to Visit back then.
I believe My nephew was told it was in Better Homes and Gardens (magazine)
back then. So it may have been from a Tourist.

For me, the tag is better than a coin in some ways. Finding anything like that or say an old foreign coin, if it could tell me it's story, I'd enjoy sitting down with a cup of coffee and listening.

Bunch of nice finds.
As far as the cup goes, someone told me that was used to pour lime over the "STUFF" when you were done.

The reason I was thinking a picture is that it says Art from jewel Ive seen pendants that have like a picture that's kind of clear coated than would be glued on which might have fallen off . Nice piece of silver though!!!!!!!!
