I don't post very often but yesterday was a good day. I've been sifting the dump at an old coast artillery fort for a couple of years and I always come away with something.
I found the silver brooch and the nickel in a piece of drain pipe. The great seal button was refaced...I removed the reface and found a nice patina on the original. It's G J & F Paris button. The USMA Cadet button is the first I've found.
I find a lot of broken glass, pottery, and china and a couple of years ago I had the idea to grind the sharp edges off of the pieces and wire wrap them into wearable pendants. I included the framed green one in the picture to show how they look when finished. They are a hit as gifts especially when people learn where they were found and how old they are. A couple of pieces I found yesterday will be nice to wrap.
