Yesterday I loaded up The Monster and we headed back to the Wheat Field. I was hoping for a repeat performance of Tuesday's hunt.
My E-Trac did not disappoint. I have already hit the area with the DEUS. I was thinking about taking the CTX 3030, but these machines ,
although capable, don't scream that little extra scream when they go over silver.

I started the hunt off with a deep Wheat Penny. Within the first hour, I hit Silver. A Mercury Dime. The Monster continued to pick away on deep coins that I missed on the 3 previous hunts. When the targets slowed down, I moved north to another part of the field that I haven't hit that hard.
By now I had quite a few nickels, including a toasted Buffalo. Then I came across a really deep Nickel Signal. I was thinking, another Buffalo or maybe some Gold. At about 9, maybe 10 inches, I pulled out a Nickel. It turns out to be a 1910 "V" Nickel. I'm not that surprised because I have pulled two 1909 wheat pennies from this spot. Shortly after the V Nickel, I got a one way squeaker. It was coming in 12 - 45 at about 7 or 8 inches. That signal, that deep, could be a silver dime. Of course I have to dig. I'm down about 8 inches and I lose the signal. I have had this happen before. It turns out that that the target is in the side wall of the hole and on edge. Unfortunately, when I dug out the side wall, I caught Lady Liberty right across the face with my Lesche Digger. This hunt gave me two more Mercury Dimes. I'm happy.
During the hunt, I located 2 earring posts. One of them is .925 Silver.
My total coin count for the hunt was 99 coins, which included 2 Mercury Dimes, (43d & 44), a 1910 "V" Nickel, a Toasted Buffalo, and 9 Wheat Pennies. (The oldest was 1924.) The Monster continues to impress.

Thanks Tommy,
I usually try to get in a 6 - 8 hour hunt.
It keeps the legs strong and can help downsize the belly. lol

I love my E-Trac, however doing 6 - 8 hours for me is impossible. I wish it was lighter. Glad someone can bring in the silver and swing that long! Sweet finds

Get a shoulder harness you will be able to go much longer with one. I go four hours or more with a 15"WOT hanging off my Safari....
