Yesterday when I woke up, I noticed a Happy Birthday from Tnet on my smart phone. Very nice. So now it is official. I can expect a check from Social Security next month. Now what better way to spend your 66th birthday than to go on a hunt.
I scooted up to The Wheat Field with The Monster. My last 4 trips up there have produced 63 Wheat Pennies. Hence the name, "Wheat Field"
These trips to the Wheat Field have also produced 5 Silver coins. Yesterday was no exception.
My very first coin was a blackened Mercury Dime. I knew it was something special because of the deep 12-45 signal and the scream that the E-trac made. Once I had it in my hand, I checked it closely and with a slight rub, I was able to make out the silhouette of Lady Liberty. Into my coin pocket it went. Before the 4 hour hunt was over, I would recover a total of 42 coins which included 5 more Wheat Pennies, and another 20 Centavos coin from Mexico. That makes 8 of these 20 Centavos coins I have dug from this site. The Wheat Field has been thinned out.
My 100 Silver Coin Goal for 2016 is now at 55 coins.
This is the 1941 Mercury after cleaning
