Message in a bottle (updated with Contents)

I found this while I was walking along the water at the seaside ca beach I could not believe it. I don't know much about it yet and it does a a message in it....maybe someone might know what I should do with it. I would love to see what the message says. A little bit of water has gotten inside. There is a number 2 on the bottom of the bottle. Does anyone know what that means.

Way to leave us hanging, OP. It's like you show us a little bit, then cut us off...it's like we are collectively in the dreaded "friend zone" lol. I've found 3 of them in the past. One was from Newfoundland, one from Massachusetts and one from my ex girlfriends little sister (that was awkward)

I am super curious. I may contact the local historical societies just to see what they say. However, the paper didn't look that old. I think it my have been a bust, and that is why we haven't heard back yet.

The message in a bottle update

Thank you for everyone's patience I have the update on the message in the bottle. Let me first start off by saying that this is one of the most exciting and coolest treasures I've ever found. I was overwhelmed with the excitement of just not knowing what was in the bottle. Anyhow with that being said, I did indeed open the bottle and this is what was inside....two notes each of them written to oneself both were on different types of paper and two different types of handwriting. Neither note had a name nor a date. After reading the notes I felt a bit saddened for the ones that wrote the notes because they were depressing it was obviously someone who was not happy at that moment and I surely do hope they are Ok today. I was able to talk to someone about the bottle and the paper and hand writing I was told that the handwriting was too modern and the pen and ink type were Also to modern and the bottle was possibly from the 1940s but they could not give me an exact date so with that being said we're still unsure when it was wrote or where it came from and who wrote it. Though it was not the treasure map I hoped it would be it is still a treasure finding that brought a lot of excitement and I guess there some reason I was the one who was meant to find it. Thanks to everyone for being a part of my message in a bottle.
