Yesterday's hunt turned up four hammered silver coins. All along what must have been an ancient track way. The earliest coin was a Scottish cut half of William the Lion, he ruled Scotland from 1165-1214. The next oldest a cut quarter of Henry III, who ruled England from 1216-72. Next in age what would have been a very nice penny of Edward I, he ruled England from 1272-1307. An the most modern, if you can call it that !, a pierced penny, of the infamous Henry VIII, who ruled England from 1509-47. The artifacts are a small medieval key, and a medieval lead token. Looks like that little track way was used for many centuries. Robert.

Very nice finds, RobFinds! The hammered coins are spectacular enough but the medieval key is really cool, also.
