Got a solid 65 on the AT Pro and I only dug it cause I hadn't got a good signal all day.
At first it looked like the head to a nail or a small shankless button.
After wiping the dirt away I saw a Roman numeral "III" and it turned out to be an 1852 silver 3 cent piece or Trime as some call it.
First one I ever found so I am excited!!!
Next I hope for my first reale lol

Correct. Referring to J.Cache's last post: In Soanish, for many nouns (all?) that end in a single "l", the plural ends in "es". Doesn't matter what the publications say. The word means the same in both languages, in other words "real" or "genuine", so my supposition is that silver was considered to be of concrete, defined, and "real" value, compared to a commodity for barter, the value of which could change depending on demand.

That is one tiny target out there in the great big world.

I think that you and the coin found each other. I am very happy for you (both of you).

I've been told nobody likes the grammar police, and I try hard not to correct people. However, I think the incorrect use of "reale" instead of "real" annoys some people because Spanish silver is such a popular theme amongst treasure hunters that we should being using the term properly.

Why do you say it real vs reale. I've seen it both ways in publications but mostly reale. Thanks.

The coins themselves have "real." Here are two. I haven't yet come across one that said "un reale." That would make it a re-al-eh, and not a re-al.

Can you show me an example of a coin (not Chinese made) that has "reale"?

So, in conversation, if it's singular and spelled "reale" you have to say, "hey, I found a half re-al-eh." but you really found a re-al.
