I had a quick hunt along the Mohawk River in upstate NY, with the ATPRO (big coil). 1853 three cent piece ! My first! A pair of French buckles with the mark of "Solide". Some flat buttons, cuff link, a baldric buckle, round balls of various sizes. A piece of Victorian hair jewelry or brooch. Various early 1900s relics, chain, "peerless" arch supporter "warranted German silver" (plated copper), an "ever ready" razor. An eagle lock co key. The broken shoe buckle looks very old to me. This is my first season of detecting and I've found a few frames but nothing that looks anything like it. I'm not even sure what type of metal it is. I'm thinking pewter or bronze. It doesn't look like any of the pewter I've found. I'd appreciate any theories on the age of the shoe buckle. Thanks for looking ! I forgot to add the pair of small buckles.

I don't know much about buckles but you absolutely killed it on your finds. A three cent piece is high on my bucket list! Congrats on some outstanding finds! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

Nice finds. I dug a 1852 three center a couple of weeks ago in Albany County.

Congrats! I'm still looking for my first 3 center. That buckle does look pretty old. I'm amazed you found all the pieces to it.

Me too ! They were all in the same hole, it's in such rough shape but it's probably my favorite find so far.

Looks like you had an amazing day of detecting. I love the buckle! I can't tell you the age, but I'll bet that someone out there on T-Net will be able to narrow it down for you.
Extra kudos for finding the trime. Those are remarkably hard to find, especially in such great condition. Well done.
