Been commenting about the heat for sooooo long!
Always having to stay in the shade so I didn't get burnt!

So, today I go out and what happens? I got burned!
WIND BURNED!! WOW! I'd kneel down to dig and the
wind would knock me over!! LOL And THAT is tough to do! LOL!

Anyway, I fought it for a short walk, thought it best to stay
out of the woods though. ;) Came up with a couple trinkets.

2016 (642).jpg
2016 (643).jpg

Non-magnetic, fairly heavy, brass I think, reminds me of a handle. :dontknow:

This nice lil cross is my puzzlement.
I was on the way back to the car when I got this
penny hit. I dug it, zincoln. shrug

When I checked around that area, (I always do that
in case they kept their diamond ring in the same pocket. ;) )

Another hit but this was different. On the ATP 41-45 (approx) usually
turns up foil/tabs/etc. But, since this was a check around an already
dug find, I played with the signal for a bit. Different angles, speeds, etc.
I got it to repeat pretty well between 47 and 50. Close nuff for gov't work.
I dug.

2016 (646).jpg
2016 (647).jpg

I was pleasantly surprised! :)
If you look closely you can see the 5 at the top.
I assumed silver and 925. A happy camper! :)

BUT......wait a minute! 47-50!?!?! On silver??? Of this size?
I did an air test there and more when I got home. But it still
only air tests at 47-50. So, fake? :dontknow:

Back at home I looked very carefully with magnification.

2016 (648).jpg

What it looks like to me, (here, under the best conditions), is a "7" "5"
Can't make out the worn first number.

I tried the gold acids, (my silver acid is corrupted). It holds up under the 10kt.

So, what y'all think? Anyone familiar with the design? Is it a symbol or just decorative?

I don't think these guys care:

Thanks for peeking!

Well 750 would be 18K. However I would be suspect because the top loop isn't soldered shut. I have no idea of the numbers on the At-Pro though. 585 would be 14K but you say the second number is a 7. Your guess is as good as mine.

Interesting cross for sure. Totally unique.

Thanks!

But, I'm not really what is surprising. Rather, it's the surprising variety of things lost, no matter where one looks! LOL

I've never seen a cross design like this one. Modern interpretation? :dontknow:

It really is, I've tried to "make" that 7 into a 2 in my mind. Would make it a lot easier to determine! :dontknow:

On the ATP, I would think a silver cross this size would ring up at the very least 80-90. Unless Chug's theory is true. :)

Well we're glad you didn't blow away in the wind!

Silver again or gold! Congrats!

Tell Blingie to be careful, that's got alot of sharp pointy places!

Punk rock devils cross, possibly? It's got enough pointy barbs you could use it like a throwing star.
If it passes the gold test, good enough.

You certainly know how to find the interesting and unusual!

I didn't make it out, life got in the way...again.

.375 is 9k gold, I think.

Really! I didn't know that! It would fit. The VDI, the acid test, (it seemed to fade with the 10kt acid but only after a long time! The weight seemed about right too, about 6 grams on something this small.
I wonder if this might be old as well?

In any case, thanks! Makes it more interesting.

Thanks again!
