Found this shoe buckle which I believe is a copper alloy with silver gilt or plating on it (not sure what the difference is between the two). Haven't had it tested but I'm thinking it is a thin layer of silver based on how it came out of the ground and cleaned up. The size is 64mm x 47mm. Iron shank still intact but no chape or tongue. Very interesting design on it and by far my best shoe buckle found. Would like to learn more about it so any buckle resources are appreciated. Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

Awesome shoe buckle. Guilding refers to gold and platinf refers to silver. Looks like the platinf held up very well too. Beautiful!!!

Its silver plated copper-alloy & a nice one, 'silver gilt' means gold plated silver.

Great shoe buckle! Had to be a city slicker. You wouldn't plow fields or hunt deer while wearing them!

That looks solid silver to me.
The cross bar was iron and caused erosion at the buckle .
Thats my humble opinion.
Beautiful.
