With gun hunting season in full swing, it's tough to get into any fields so I went to an old fall-back site today to burn a few hours and to enjoy a nice day off of work. The day started slow and I was just digging the typical tacks, lead and the occasional button. The first good find of the day was a really cool ornate buckle piece. After a few more buttons and more lead and trash I decided to call it quits. As it usually happens, I started to make the trek back to my car and I got a good signal. I almost contemplated not digging it but I'm glad I did. Out popped my first cob of the fall/winter detecting season and the find of the day. Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

The fields looks gorgeous..Those Cob's never show up around here..I find that strange..There must be some reason they never made it up this way?

That's easy Blaze! It's because all the cobs already fell out of everyone's pockets by the time they reached RI! First SC, then VA, MD, NJ, NY, CT....

Lol.

Excellent find! Isn't it funny how some of the best finds either occur in the first or last 5 minutes of the hunt. One of my best LCs I've ever found (1834) was in the first of about 30 cornfield rows I hit on that day. Didn't find another coin the rest of the day. Strange. HH!

John

Thanks John. Yep, that's exactly how it works!

I've been in a dicey situation before and don't plan on doing it again. Thanks!

Thanks cuz. I love the look of the fields this time of year.....huntable[emoji3].

The southern colonies had a more agrarian economy with a looser policy of means-of-exchange. The north had a stricter mercantilist economy and the mother country had a tighter grip over your currency.
