I was sure that I'd come up with a dollar in clad......it's the 2nd time I've been short. I was sure that this new permission, that is next to 2 others that had given up silver, would do likewise. I was sure that there would be at least one good relic...........
Now, I'm sure that I'm not sure of anything.............:laughing7:

It's possible.......there were quite a few mders around here during the 70's and 80's........
I've talked to some of the old timers from that era and they regale me with tales (no doubt some of them tall tales) about picking silver like it was growing on ground vines.
I still get my (more than) fair share of trash targets because I tend to dig everything that repeats in the disc range I am set for.........but, I still manage to pull some good stuff!! I'll go back there and try again........I don't give up easy.

You just never know what treasure the trash may be masking, so that's why I grid most sites in a couple directions.

One thing I forgot to mention........6 to 8 inches down there is a layer of seashells. I know they are good for calcium in the soil and were widely used back in the day..........everything I find is either in or above that layer.

Good thing I didn't post my finds from today, I'd make you look bad. Lol
My only good finds for the day were a toasted old copper that has no detail what so ever and a wheat that's almost as bad as the old copper.
Most days it's more junk then goods, it's those good days that keeps me going.

If you want to try an experiment. Grid off a fairly small area and try detecting EVERYthing out of it! ALL of it! Then, go to lunch or go home and come back the next day and start again. Can be an eye opener. ;)
