🥇 BANNER 18th Century Silver Stock Buckle, Lock Plate, And a Few Other Goodies.

I've been on a 3 month long break from metal detecting, and got the itch to go out today. I'm glad I did. I found what I believe to be a 1700s era stock buckle. Its made out of silver and has a makers mark of DR which is the intials of a silversmith named Daniel Rogers from Ipswich, MA. I also found large cent (date unreadable), a dandy button, a sweet looking lock plate, some kind of pull knob, thimble, musket balls, and a flat button with writing on the back that says warranted orange rich. Can anyone tell me how much the buckle may be worth? Thanks for looking!

That buckle is amazing! And made of silver...you've got to be kidding me! No idea as to the value, but I'm sure it would command a good price. This is a banner find if ever I've seen one - voting now!

Well, once again I've learned something here... I had to google stock buckle to figure out why this was causing such a fuss.... Now that I know congrats on a great find and the banner!

Congrats on the banner find. I'm happy to see it up there. Any neck stock buckle find is rare, but a silver one is remarkable. I've only found small pieces of copper ones.

I found it at an old homesite from the mid 1800s.

Copper-alloy Stock Buckle = Rare
Silver Stock Buckle = Very Rare
Silver Stock Buckle with identifiable Silver Smith = Very Rare++

Be a good one for the silver experts at the Antiques Roadshow....works by early American silversmiths are pretty rare and they are very collected and desirable...A quick google search came up with this.

I took a closer look at my buckle this morning and noticed another set of initials D S. I assuming there the owners.
