When I told them what my addiction was they told me
that they were very sorry but my condition is terminal.

They have absolutely no cure, or workable therapy for
my addiction! :(

They said, it's supposed to go up to 50 today and
up to 60!!!! tomorrow!! And they strongly suggested
that I better get out and get as many "fixes" as I could
while they were available! :BangHead:

Sooooooo.....what to do? :icon_scratch:

But, of course! Go for a walk! :tongue3:

But, again, where? :dontknow: I know! Now is a good time
to do some scouting of a couple of wooded patches that I have
permission on. They are extremely rough but they have the
added benefit of rotting leaves to warm the ground.

It was VERY easy digging but, WOW! What a mess! SOOOO much garbage!!
Still, gotta admit, served it's purpose! I feel better now.

Here's the take:

2017 (8).jpg
2017 (9).jpg

Lantern? Candle holder?

2017 (16).jpg 2017 (17).jpg

It's actually pretty solidly built. :dontknow:
2017 (10).jpg
2017 (11).jpg
2017 (12).jpg

This piece was a very interesting find.
When it first came out I said, gas cap?
I cleaned off this side and said, interesting vents?
Then I said, these vents look very much like harmonica reeds!?! :icon_scratch:

I flipped it over and cleaned off the dirt:

2017 (14).jpg

I've seen these before but this one appears to be very solid, comparatively. :dontknow:

2017 (15).jpg

Blingie seems happy enough. :dontknow:

Anyway, I do feel better now.
Also, I have a greater respect for all
you true relic hunters out there! I'm pooped!!

Thanks for continuing to peek! 8-)

Your thing you asked candle holder or lantern reminds me of a radiator cap.

Well at lest this is one of the good addictions! Gets you outside in the fresh air.

Nicely done! A collection of mystery items!
Your candle holder looks more like a cap for something to me, radiator maybe.
I've seen the vent thing somewhere, but don't remember where. A mind is a terrible thing to have wander way when your trying to use it!
I'll probably remember in the middle of the night.

If you keep finding stuff in winter poor Blingie will be so tired come spring!

Man...You found a bracket for a roll up blind! ( Whop, whop, whoppity whop whop!)
And a whole bunch of goodies.
Ice still too thick here but some open areas some miles away ( frozen).

Thanks for sharing your hunt.
Trying to feel empathetic about your condition. It is not working though...:tongue3:
Surprised you didn' t get a couple recruits from the addiction hotline to go detecting.

You got it Doc!! I watched my Dad use the same one all my life. Only recently did I discover that he had a 2nd one stashed away somewhere! Never seen one with that white plastic part though.

Nice finds! I believe the round item with the holes in it is a pitch-pipe.

Excellent id!

Ya know, I was wondering why all the talk about that being a pitch pipe until I reread my post.
Even though it says it right on there, I meant to actually "say" that it was a pitch pipe! I forgot! :BangHead:

Thanks for the research guys!
