I got out for 30 minutes after a busy day. I cleared about 20 sq ft of heavy thorns and detected 10 minutes. Dig some nails and only one good keeper.

This is my first facsimile Spanish cufflink and it's a great example. I minimally cleaned it due to the fragile patina. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1484186875.045382.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1484186885.965223.jpg

The ground was surprisingly thawed. Happy January. Any day out in this month is a bonus.

Good hunts

Steve

Looks awesome cleaned up Scrapdawg. Btw, I set up a profile for you on Monster.com

Awesome, I'd love a new gig. But as Groucho Marx once said, "please accept my resignation. I do not want to be part of any organization that'll accept me as a member" lol.

That's a great find Steve, and one that I've never passed my coil over. And is that gold gilt I'm seeing, or is that just the way the light is hitting it?

No gilt there ol' buddy. That's the patina flaking and the camera picking up the extra light. I figured if I lost the patina it would look like crud, so I just acetone washed it and used some renaissance wax. Thanks for looking Brother.

Nice job not over cleaning the link Steve, she turned out great

Less is more sometimes Jon. I see so many relics destroyed from over-cleaning. And besides, refined yet dirty is best;)

Thank you. I was very surprised to see the detail. A few large cents found 20' away didn't fare as well. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1484308041.572007.jpg
