I dug this old paper shotgun shell buried in my parents backyard. I tried to clean it up a bit to read the headstamp. Kind of rough looking, but it says "WESTERN 410 MADE IN USA". It's a .410 paper shotshell. From Google, the best info I could find was that it was possibly made between 1927-1960. My parents built their house on a heavily wooded acre around 1972, so it was fired and buried prior to that, as no one would have fired a shotgun in their yard after the home was built. Odd how the paper shell was still partly intact after being buried all these years, and didn't disintegrate. I thought it was an interesting find anyways, ha. :)

Those are pretty cool. I live in a neighborhood that borders some woods . I couldn't believe the amount of shell casings and shotgun shell ends I found in my yard when I first started to detect.
