Detecting field sites in January in Ohio how great is that? Today I bested my 1919 Wheat Penny from New Years Day. 20 feet into the field well short of the old home site I found a Monster Blade, although the base is snapped off it's almost 4 inches long! I also found a 184_? Large Cent, the quarter is just for size reference. The sweet blade on the left I found Dec. 28th same site. I also found a broken quartz arrowhead, my first quartz piece. I Finished the hunt with a broken clay pipe stem

Great finds! It's wonderful to hear of people detecting all over despite it being January.

Congrats on a couple of nice finds. Gonna be warm here in Illinois tomorrow. Supposed to be 54 degrees. Ground is thawing ( at least where I will be ) and its time to head back out. 2 weeks of cold temps and rain just froze everything up.
