After today's hunt you may say that 1+1+1=4, three coins totaling 4 cents.
First coin turned out to be a toasty 2-cent piece. Many horseshoes were dug, at least 7 on the day, all different.

Most of these came from a pumpkin field search that also yielded a lead seal with starburst, a lantern part, and a silver charm.

4 shotgun headstamps, a brass cartridge and an older lead bullet were dug.

Found one button; it's very brittle and appears to be of lead or pewter.

Finally meandered down to the edge of a cornfield and target after target came up, the first being an LC from the 1820s, followed by another one from 1818. Other finds at that field edge were two iron rings, and square nail, an irregular piece of lead, and a leather fitting with 4 rivets.

Here's the dig of the first LC:

Very nice dig bro! I like that 1818

Nice video too. I usually don't watch anyone's videos unless I know they're long term Tnetters. Very chill. Congrats!

Big pennies always get my attention. The 1818 has a nice clear date, and from the picture the other one looks like it's a 1821. A key date that you might be able to improve when it dries out some more. Well done !

Thx wagbert! That LC was 12 feet away from the first. My first impression was 1821.

Thanks Skippy SH13! Don't dig 2-centers much. Too bad this one was in a farm field.

Thanks Tommy! This land was farmed from the 1820s on, according to my research. Hope to someday find an item that identifies the first family.

Thanks JackalopeZL1! I was out for about 5 hours. Started off inauspiciously. I got out of the truck and realized I didn't have my wallet, so no DL or county permit. My wife dropped it off in about a half hour. I was almost prepared for the hunt. :happysmiley:

Thx Jeff! It's a bit overwhelming with all these acres, but I concentrated on mainly three areas and two of them paid off.

Thanks Art! It is very peaceful detecting. Pretty much just see folks walking their dogs and the resident hawk.
