I got my minelab safari / may 2016 / been searching local school and local parks to get the feel of how to use it / found a lot of modern coins but no silver / came across a run down over grown park in another town / had about 1hr before dark - it had a lot of trash / bottle caps , pull tabs , foil- almost gave up- moved away from shelter to some older trees / imeatately found these 3 coins / can't Waite to go back IMG_1042.JPG

That's real nice for your first silver! Just shows ya, never give up. Digging all those tabs and foil will pay off someday. Might be gold next time!

Congrats on your first silver, good first silver coin to boot! You'll always remember you're first, I remember my lowly first, it was a mercury dime at a demo site our club turned us on to.

Very nice Barber Dime.
Put that bad boy in a coin folder, put the date and location of find, and mark in red ink, "FIRST"

Congrats on your first silver and a Barber dime to boot. I have some bad news. You will now start to become addicted to this hobby. If you have a family, they won't see you as much. Same goes for any fishing or hunting buddies unless they are also swinging a detector. The news gets worse, the more you find the more you want to find. The older the coins you find, the older the coins you want to find. The good news. When you're out swinging a detector time ceases to exist. You could be detecting for hours and it seems like minutes. It gets to be like "one more cast". There's never just one more. Happy Hunting and big congrats on your first silver.

Heyyy, that's a coin over 100 years old!! You must be stoked skipping right by a 1/2 century of other silver coins. Congrats.

Congrats on finding your 1st barber and 1st silver. I do recommend you get a small coil for your detector if you don't already have one. They get better target separation due to their size and make hunting trashy sites easier. GL & HH
