Okay...

So today I went out to the woods with my friend to hunt for some 1800s/1900s silver at an old "party place" (where people danced etc, can't find the word).
After digging countless of the usual bottlecaps and cartridges I went down a slope, off the paths. I stumbled upon a veeery faint and iffy signal jumping from 50-70 on my AT-Pro. I decided to dig it.
Boy was that a good decision. First thing that pops up is a Johan III of Sweden (1537-1592) 2 öre silver coin. I was stoked! First thing I find of 2017 became my oldest swedish coin I've ever dug!
I called my friend over to show him the coin. While he was checking it out in his palms I stuck the pin-pointer down the hole and what do you know - MORE SIGNALS. I really thought there would just be some iron or junk stuff there but oh was I wrong. I put my hand down the hole and ANOTHER 2 ÖRE!!!! "We have a coinspill here!". My heart was pumping fast. We kept expanding the hole because of more and more signals. 2 öres, 1 öres, ALL SILVER!!! (some very low content, 15 %) We removed two big rocks from the hole to be able to recover yet more silver coins all ranging from 1500s to 1620s. I ended up finding coins from Johan III, Karl IX and Gustav II Adolphus. This is the best thing I've ever found and probably will be... 4 years into detecting.

We ended up finding 9 silver coins, 1 and 2 öres from Johan III to Gustav II Adolphus. All from the Vasa dynasty!
Who buried these 9 coins? Are there more there? Probably! I have to go back with a bulldozer next time... heh.

The coins are: 1 öre 1615, 1616, 1610. One half öre 1615. 1 örtug 1590. 4 2 öre from 1573, 1573, 1591 or 1592 and one 157X

Incredible spill! Hammered silver spills rank up there with "ultimate finds". That's a banner dig right there. Congrats

Already voted BANNER - It's not every day you come across a 1500s coin spill on TNet! How exciting and noteworthy! :notworthy:
