I had fully intended to do a *full* day's worth of walk today. I was hoping
to be walking with someone but I'd already promised myself that whether
anyone else was available or not, I was going to do a whole day!

Anyway, just as I was getting ready to leave, I get a phone call. A friend who knew
I did this sort of stuff said that he was at a party the night before and my friend's
brother,( who was there too), had lost his wedding band in the backyard.

He said, since he KNEW I didn't *do* anything on a 65 degree, Saturday in February.
He was sure I wouldn't mind coming over to help him find it. (we both laughed)

Anyhoo, I went and MAN! WHAT TRASH!! The party at "Animal House" would be
put to shame by the amount of trash everywhere here! LOL I told him to tie a rope
around me in case he needed to pull me out! LOL

I turned the sensitivity all the way down! Notched out everything but what I figured a ring
on top might sound like and waded in and believe it or not, I found it! Took me 3 hours, but
I found it!

So much for an all day "walk", this was ANYTHING but a "walk" in a park!
Attn: Mike! It was a very good thing you had something to do this morning! LOL

I didn't accept his money but I did put the bite on him for a steak lunch! LOL

Ok...so this is not what you come here for so let me get to the rest of my day.

After leaving them I only had a few hours to hunt.

Since I was near one of my clad factories, I opted for some clad/etc.

Turned out ok though. As I was going along I got one of *those* hits.
You know, 95? In all directions? Clear, repeatable, not really deep, solid?

2017 (124).jpg

I've said before that I don't do "victory dances". I don't climb trees or jump
around shouting catch phrases, calling attention to myself.
But, I do a sort of dance. More of a waltz. When I get a hit like this I go into
waltzing around the target with "AT", listening to the wonderful sound! LOL

2017 (125).jpg
2017 (126).jpg

A wonderful surprise given the circumstances of the day! :)

Here's the rest:

2017 (127).jpg
2017 (128).jpg

The butterfly button was literally 10 feet from the car when I was OTWBTTC. :)

2017 (129).jpg
2017 (130).jpg
2017 (131).jpg

No clue. :dontknow:
But, it appears to be brass and very solidly built. It
is inordinately heavy for it's size! Non-magnetic.
Maybe a fuel jet of some sort?

Wonder if they make these things out of silver. :icon_scratch:

2017 (135).jpg

I believe Fishy has the better pick this time.
A VERY nice big chunk of sterling! :)

Sorry for the long post but, when one doesn't have a life,
they have to fill it up with something. :dontknow:

Thanks for peeking!

You've heard the twisted saying that "No good deed goes unpunished"??

If that's normal, I want to hunt with you Whadi. Congrats on pulling the silver ring and your other finds. I agree that is a cutting torch tip.

Is that not at least your second mouthpiece for a horn? This one looks like a french horn mouthpiece. Was it you that also found a coronet mouthpiece?

Very nice day in your life. Congrats on the return and the silver ring

Guilty as charged. Not too surprising, same clad factory. ;)

I'm planning on going into the music business when I retire from detecting. ;) LOL
Thanks!

Thanks!

Not the biggest silver ring I've ever found but 10 full grams of sterling?! Not to be sneezed at, IMHO. LOL

I've heard that those "letters" are "runes". I have no clue whether they're just initials or have deeper meanings.
Just that it was a very nice surprise to see that chunk! LOL

Very successful day for you. The ring and .... another ring. Great work finding that first ring! They called the right guy for the job. I'll fill you in on my Sat AM venture. By the afternoon I was home splitting and stacking firewood.
