small bullet found in back yard, what is it from? how old?

I found this in my back yard the other day. It's very small and have no idea what kind of gun this could of game from. Was also wondering if you guys could estimate a year for it. Thanks! IMG_3298.JPG

Looks modern to me, but I don't know much about bullets. What state are you in?

yeah I have 2 guesses so far but I know nothing about bullets so hopefully someone knows for sure.

I'm leaning toward .25 acp maybe.

Strange there is no rifling on the bullet.

as a home inspector I walk 500+ home roofs a year and I find bullets in them all the time. These are from stupid bafoons Celebrating new years. What goes up, must come down!

Seriously!? I know a certain type does this, I just didn't think it was that common... wow; when I was kid I shot a few arrows into the air. But, never shat a firearm into the air. My gramps would whoop my ass; rest his soul.
