I think its an eagle

Found this near a creek by an old house foundation from the 1800's. Obviously not that old because it looks like it was chrome at one time. Looked up hood ornaments but nothing matched. Can't find anything with one wing forward and one back? Anyone able to help me identify? Thanks for reading.

Could it be from the top of a flag pole? Hard to tell with the device I'm using, but I think that is a possible place to start, good luck!

Seems to me like I have seen something similar as a hood ornament on an old car.

Yep, agree its either from flag pole or hood ornament.
