Finally back in Germany I took my 2 year old nephew out to a little hunt to show him how I go "treasure hunting" (Preparing the next generation)
We looked at a field close to the monestary site where I found the hammered silver last year but the field was a dud so before it got dark we gave the edge of the forest a swing and close to an old oak we finally found a little "treasure" :D

Ring is stamped 835 meaning it is probably first half of 20th century when (according to the internet) due to tax reasons sterling 925 was sometimes stamped as 835, a practice which was later discontinued.

The stone in the ring is either busted or fell out and another little rock got stuck inside...bummer..

Nothing special but a nice warm-up for the upcoming hunting season here in Europe and my nephew was thrilled..

Thanks for looking and happy hunting everyone.. :headbang:

Nice to see you with the little fellow getting him excited about detecting. When we were in Germany on a Viking River cruise last summer, at one stop on the river we took a bus trip back into Austria to Saltzburg. While traveling in the countryside I saw someone with a detector in a field. Would have loved to stop and see what he was finding, but the bus would not stop.

A hunt with a little one makes an hunt amazing. I always look forward to your finds and how old they are. Today you're the old find! Lol. Just kidding.

Great find and congrats.
