The weather was sunny and warm this weekend. I hunted the new spot with Smittyman on Saturday, then took P@tch there on Sunday. The hunts were about (5) hours each.

Here is the (188) coins and other "smalls" that I dug.

IMG_20170226_144226_066-1.jpg

Here are the cleaned item, less all of the clad.
- 16 Wheaties.
- Kennedy half.
- VFW medal.
- Marble.
- '43 & '48 quarters.
- '64 & '41 dimes.
- Toy gun hammer.
- Spam can key.
- Toy Wheel
- Small metal TV.

This is a VFW war medal. I believe it once hung from a ribbon on a veteran's chest.

I am coin shooter at heart, and something about silver coins just gets me going. Early on Saturday morning, this shiny disc appeared in some dirt that I had thrown out of a hole. 1964 dime!

IMG_20170225_084639_076.jpg

The edge of this coin appeared out of a dirt clod. I could tell it was a quarter by the thickness! Can you ID any objects by their thickness?

IMG_20170225_133502_749.jpg

I pulled the plug out of this hole, and there was a Mercury dime looking up at me!

IMG_20170226_131247_777.jpg

I ended the weekend with these (4) silver coins... and a smile on my face!

Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts!

I bet you were beat after both hunts. I have never seen you dig so many coins in a weekend. You did great on having another super silver weekend Tom. The medal is from the VFW, looks old.

The new site is large, probably (15) acres with (20) duplexes from 1947 being demolished. From what I can tell, no one ever hunted here. Smittyman was able to secure exclusive permission for us. There is a good amount of trash, but the place is full of coins... most modern, but lots of wheaties and some silver. I have hunted the place (5) times, for about (21) hours total. here is a pic of the (14) silver coins plus ring and fork. It's not easy, but it has been a ton of fun!

What I have GOT to know is.......was the marble a high tone or?

Seriously, you're on a roll and I would love to have such a big area to dirt fish at that produced silver, no matter how trashy. Forking awesome!

Is it soooo trashy that you're passing up a lot of mid/nickel tones? You know where I'm going with this....there's got to be some GOLD!

Keep up the good work, sir!

Smittyman and I discussed this before the hunt. I gave up after about (10) pull tabs... he had about (15) nickels at the end of the day... but no gold.

How long can you hunt it, I hope your not under the gun with a time limit? Awesome sauce, I like how you dug and counted 188 smalls. The clad will help cover feeding Zeke.
Congrats, horde that silver don't let Scrappy spend it.
