Decided to jump on the bike & have a short 2 hour hunt on a nearby field. It was my last chance as the Wheat was at the point where the farmer likes us off. This field is not a priority one & have no sites. What it does have is plenty of digs & a small mix of most periods. Even my earliest Stone Age find;

These are sometimes the best fields. At least as a backup field for a rainy day! That "Vee" Livery is pretty cool!

The 'V' I have a few different variants of.

However, the Crowned W Dandy is really special, unlike 99.9% of all Dandy buttons that have no Back-Mark, this has the name 'William Williams'. I can't find any reference to this button maker, but there is a Silver Maker of the right kind of period, mid-18th C. I will send it for recording.

Hi ,nice buttons We got 2 young female backpackers from the UK working as boundary riders. Duck Season and with river frontage they out on the quad bikes checking checking the gates and boundary every 2 hours. Not allowed to use drones in areas where protected bird species nest. Brother in law no longer allows campers or shooters on the property. T.P
