Still have a few inches of snow on the ground, but I went to an older baseball field anyway. Found a grand total of 12 cents! But I did find a really cool Sterling silver signet ring. It was a good 8 inches down and rang up as an 85. Thought it was going to be a clad quarter, so I was pleasantly surprised to dig up a silver ring.

The ring is stamped "Sterling" and appears to be vintage. It has a hallmark on it, but I can't figure out if it's a letter or a symbol. Any help IDing the hallmark would be appreciated.

I am not sure if there is anything listing hallmarks on line for Sterling. I have found one for SW Indian Sterling ring hallmarks for the Turquoise/Silver ring I have that turned out to be Navajo. Maybe Google Sterling silver Hallmarks? I know, can't be that simple, but you never know. Good Luck

Beautiful ring and definitely vintage. Hallmarks are hard to find especially if you don't know what country the ring was made in. You might find some online resources if you google it.

Thanks, guys! I've tried to do research on this ring tonight, but no luck. Haven't found a makers mark that looks like that one, plus I just can't figure out what the mark is supposed to be! Very annoying.

By the way, there's actually two more marks in the ring. It has the number 5 (for size 5, I'm guessing) and some other mark that looks like the tail feathers on a bird or maybe two hands. At least that's what I think I'm seeing. If I can take a decent picture of those marks, I'll post a photo here.
