Went back to my old neighborhood school again this afternoon. I have hunted it hundreds of times and so have many others. Before going, I ran through my mind where my best chances of finding something were. I thought about the fact that most of my hunts concentrated on the athletic field area, so I decided to hit the area around the outer curb surrounding the fields. I knew the hunting would be difficult because there is a lot of trash in that area. First surprise was the padlock and finding the other piece about 6" away. Was totally blown away when the Silver Quarter showed up. Was certainly worth changing up my hunting habits to find more silver.

Till next time. Happy Hunting.

Started with a Garrett. I think I've probably tried everything make and model from 1977, all the way to the up to the E-trac and GPX 4800.
Nothing new as for me now, I am pretty much handicapped.

That's so cool. I always wanted to go bask to hillcrest elementary. over 50 years ago. we always threw money off the playground. In the creeks too, like skippin' rocks, but with quarters. I even remember chucking some buffalos. One day...

Congrats, nice finds.
Good story and I like the idea of thinking about your search before going out. Find the odd spots nobody else has hunted before and it payed off for you!

I found a 14k ring in a spot I've been over countless times last week. Always something more to give. 20170316_185125.jpg

Congrats. Agreed about not giving up on a site. Sometimes it seems a spot gives up better treaures the more you remove to unmask other, older things.
