Hello Everyone,

Today, I decided to hit two old parks under heavy cloud cover and an occasional light shower. I used the Minelab Explorer II with a 5” Sun Ray coil with a wide open screen, sensitivity=24, conductive tones and deep=on. These parks have been hammered by me and others for years, but they still give up a silver or two if you get the correct ground conditions and machine settings. The dimes were hiding very deep, but the Sun Ray probe sniffed them out once the plug was opened. It never ceases to amaze me how well the Explorer II can sniff out deep coins, even with a 5” coil…remarkable.

Today’s finds:

1920 & 1925 Mercury dimes
1910, 1916 & 1957 Wheat cents
A very well worn nickel (perhaps V?) and some clad

Thank you looking!

Best Regards,

Doc

Way to dial in that machine! I tried a 5" but too much trash in ghost towns, or I'm a little impatient. I've tried wide open too but have to bump that iron discrimination a few notches, or my brain will explode. Looks to me if that set up works well for hunted out parks:) Changing your set up is always a learning experience. Congrats!
