Today myself and a few buddies (IslandScope and Vineyarder) headed out to an old cellar hole site that has produced several cut copper coins as well as a nice Reale in previous hunts. Our hunt was slow but right as we were about to head out I popped a cut unknown copper coin. The lads came running back over and we began searching the area a little harder. Vineyarder ended up with 2 cut coins one being a Large Cent the other is unknown. I then dug the military button which I am not exactly sure what type it is and a nice Tombac. A few other buttons and we headed out.
IslandScope headed home and Vineyarder and I decided to hit a new spot for a quick 30 minute hunt. We ended up getting on some goodies there including the gold gilt button as well as the colonial shoe buckle and the watch winder? At least I think its a watch winder. He ended up pulling a really decorative furniture piece as well as a general service button.
All in all it was a pretty successful day and we can't wait to get out there again after work this week! Any help Iding the military button would be great, the back appears to be blank but its a bit dirty and I don't know if I should clean it or not. Thanks for reading and HH
