Hello,. Hit up an old house site near a Continental army River crossing. Popped this out thinking it was just a fancy flat button.....Well I guess it is a fancy flat button technically.

That's about as nice as they come. I would try dry cleaning only to save the patina. I use toothpicks and a chip brush.

I'm with Scrappy, just a gentle dry brush on that thing. It's freakin gorgeous.

I also agree with Argentium, that's a bannerworty button for sure!

A guy around me found one exactly like that and sold to a private buyer for close to $10,000.
