It's about all this clad that I'm finding.

2017 (296).jpg

Yeah, another clad day. So, what's to feel "guilty" about, right?
I feel I shouldn't do ANYthing that even resembles complaining.
There are so many hunters out there who would gladly change places
with me, I know this. Also, if I'm sick of the clad I'm finding, I could always
just send it to them! ;)

I'm not given to be too concerned over causing some sort of TH-ing gods to get
P.O.-ed over my DARING to complain about all this I'm finding! Still, I do know
all too well that I could be just digging up ONLY pulltabs.

Still.....I find myself getting very, very weary of the aspect that EVERY single decent
hit is turning up clad. You know, when you're out there and you get a quarter, dime, penny
hit, You start hoping that it could at least turn out to be a silver or at least a wheatie?!?!?
But, no.....clad quarter, clad dime, zincoln, even the nickles turn out to be new. :(

It's fun, to be finding money AND I KNOW!!! The clad adds up! I have paid for my ATP with
clad finds, alone! A couple times over!! LOL

This year I have even forced myself to fight with farm fields more than ever before! Why? That
once in a while *OLD* coin!!! I find that if I turn up just one old coin out there, my day is made!
I'm happier, I rest better, etc. But, these clad hunts are wearing me down! :(

What say you fellow hunters? Am I even slightly justified? Or am I just a plain spoiled brat and should
just shut up and leave well enough alone? :dontknow:

Here's the rest of the pics:

2017 (297).jpg

This stupid piece of brass/bronze/whatever is here cuz
it added to my frustration today. This stupid thing
was over 14 inches deep!!! In some very hard packed,
tightly rooted grass! I must've spent 25 minutes on
this one alone! All THAT, for THIS!?!?! ???

2017 (298).jpg

A couple tokens to at least break up my day. :dontknow:

2017 (299).jpg
2017 (300).jpg

It was these wonderful, four lil wheaties that
started me thinking about all this. That warm
feeling came over me as each one appeared.
It's why I do this! The old coins! :dontknow:

2017 (301).jpg
2017 (302).jpg

At least the "kids" seem happy.
I wonder if those flattened pennies are collectible?
I'm sure getting a lot of them stacked up! :)

Sorry for the venting.
Glad you guys are here to share with, sorry it's just clad :dontknow:

I totally feel you! Sometimes I get tired of digging clad. I want silver, gold, old dog tags, anything interesting. But usually it's just clad, clad, and more clad. Keep the faith. You won't know if you don't dig :)

Congratulations on a decent haul.
I prefer the silver coins too but there just aren't that many left out there so let me come home with a little clad.

Another enjoyable post I have several places I could get lots of clad, but the old stuff keeps calling to me. Congrats on a good day

Guess who's the cool dad that always has plenty of change for thinks like vending machines, gumball machines, feeding machines at the Zoo, etc....

Clad has its uses. Like impressing chicks at the bar playing billiards when I pull a handfull of dirty quarters out my pocket and stack them on the table. Totally completes that hustler vibe - The Color of Money!

Good hunting. :occasion14:

For a small fee , you could ship me your detector ( postage pre- paid) and I could " adjust" it to ignore clad. :laughing7:

I think I'm one of the strongest proponents for digging up clad, here. Yet, lately, it's mostly been a constant reminder of failure.
We all hunt for our own reasons. Mine, after all is said and done is finding old coins! Just one silver dime/nickel and I feel like the walk
was successful. But, when I can't even muster a wheatie now and again, well, it reminds me that I've failed in what I set out to do.

I have enormous patience! But, I'm also starting to not enjoy my walks anymore. It's all about where one looks and I am just not doing enough in the research department! And....it's pure laziness! :(

I ain't quit, yet. But, I did once before so I know I can. And, about that new machine? Let me tell you something you need to keep in mind. Most people get hooked on getting something deeper and deeper! Just GOT to find better if I can just get DEEPER! Well, how would you feel if you dug down, through the roots and rocks and other problems, AND it's just a piece of brass pipe? FOURTEEN INCHES DOWN!!!! :(

Don't fret my feeling a bit guilty for finding so much clad. I'll get past it and continue to dig.
But, I know I simply have to knock off the cobwebs on my researching skills. Figure out some places
besides "clad factories". :dontknow:

The squished pennies are collectible.
By people like you, and me....lots of us appreciate them. I've got about a hundred, but have dug maybe only 5.

There used to be a "squished penny" museum, in D.C. ..... but they closed their doors.
It was a guy in his house, who advertised open weekends only, reservation required....but his wife was tired of people showing up unannounced.

Thanks, BB.

But, unless I still have something to learn about the ATP, I don't think it can get any more "all metal" than
Zero Pro Mode, iron audio, full sensitivity, zero iron discrimination. :dontknow: LOL

And you're right, it DO find ALL kinds of stuff! LOL

Try this, it worked for me today!
Reverse psychology .
I went to this little park today to hunt some clad. Just clad. Lots of drunks and homeless sleep there and loose clad right and left.
Wasn't thinking about silver, for some reason it didn't even cross my mind. I kept thinking quarters (need laundry $)

And what do i dig up !?! A 1898 Barber dime !
View attachment 1438443

So try going out with the mindset , im going for all the clad i can, only clad, just the clad. Clad clad and nothing but the clad.
