Just Find a exceptional Viking brooch in silver.
Really a big shock to dig it up..
a fairly equal in silver is only found one time before, in Sweden / Birka during excavation of a tomb in the early 1900s

Not sure what your plans are for Viking piece, but a museum visit might be in the works if it were mine.

Fantastic! Great review! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much. It will be handed over to the museum, the law in Norway says that all findings older than 1537 are state property.

Wow, that sucks. On the one side, good of you to donate it. But the government shouldn't step in and own everything because it's older than X Y Z. I'm sure guys in our country would lose their minds if our government said anything before 1800 belongs to the government.

Germany have decided to change their Laws to a very similar set up. Where you're in a Country that is not used to this process & you already have a Night Hawking problem, it just drives all the finds underground & no-one benefits. (Including the Archies) I do also think it's mad for farmers in that set up not to own the property on their land! That's why I'm glad we have the best Treasure Laws in Europe. There was pressure from Europe to bend closer to their Laws (Some don't allow detecting at all), so I'm glad we left Europe & Lead the way instead of the other way around.

Strange number. What is the significance of the year 1537?
In 1537, the church in Norway from Catholic to Protestant, this year is set as the transition from medieval to modern times.
I feel just fine to delivered my finds, then history can be told and be safe for future generations.
