I got a text from "Brooklyn digger" Do you want to get together for a hunt? So yesterday I took him to a location that gave up 31 silver coins last year. This place also gave me my single hunt high of 38 wheat pennies. I told him not to expect too much because I had really hammered this place. Well he didn't pay attention to me and went about pulling a little band of what we both think is old gold.
The Wheat pennies were all going his way, while I dug out a few deep memorials. How do memorial pennies get so deep. They do not plow this lawn. The DEUS also turned up a few large iron washers. I thought for sure I was going home without Silver.
Then about 3 hours into the hunt, I got a penny signal at about 7 or 8 inches. The Garrett carrot told me it was under a root. I managed to scrape out a handful of dirt and tossed it on the pile next to my plug. There was a silver coin in that scoop. I grabbed it and saw that it was a Silver Roosevelt Dime. Then I recheck the hole and I get another signal. I figure, there is a penny sitting in there. A little more digging around the root and out pops a Mercury Dime. Oh boy ,,, oh boy. It's probably been at least two years since I got a Silver Coin spill. I checked the hole one more time, looking for the coin that gave me a penny signal. Nothing.

Thanks Monster,, I was having problems uploading the puctures.
The 2 silvers were a 1946 Roosevelt and a 1941 Mercury.

Nice. I was just telling Park Pirate today that I'm long overdue for a nice pocket spill. Been a few years for me also !

Them deep memorials suck, I also have found them in places 100% undisturbed ground.
I think it just happens certain times, certain places, only the worms know for sure.
