Hello Everyone,

Yesterday (early morning) and today, I had the pleasure of working a mid 1700โ€™s Farm Field in central RI. The field has been detected for years by others, but this was my first visit! The weather was great and the finds were enough to bring me back. I used the Minelab Explorer SE Pro with a wide open screen, Sensitivity=manual 27 and ferrous tones. The Explorer ran beautifully in the moist ground with great depth and quite operation.

The Finds:

Relics: 4 โ€” Buckles, Skeleton Key, Flat Button, Religious medal, Ornate Spoon handles and Edward J. Day name plate, Silver Knob and Red Reflector.

Jewelry: Silver Heart Charm

Coins: ยฝ real (no date), 1857 Seated Dime, 1902 Indian Head, Wheat Cents and an unknown coin.

Thank you for looking!

GL & HH

Doc

That soil is not nice to coins. I think that you need to find all the rest of them so that they can be rescued. :laughing7:

Looks like a Carlos III 1/2 Real based on the shape of the crown atop the coat of arms. This would date the coin from 1759-1788 right within the lifetime of the Founding Fathers of the USA. George Washington himself may have once handled it in transaction. Very cool!

If you clean up that reale, perhaps you can see the assayers mark and narrow the dates. Just a thought...

Great digs

OK, for me, That could be one of those "Field of Dreams", a very good day you had, and I'm thinking that you are going to have more.

Hello dirtlooter,

The doll appears to be ceramic or porcelain.

Congrats Doc. That looks like two really great days of detecting. What a nice diversity of finds. The two old silvers aren't too shabby either! Well done!
