Break in the rain so i decided it was time to do some detecting. I knew i discovered old farm land from 1700's and really wanted to see what i could find.

So i found 4 horseshoes

and 6 oxen shoes

and a large assortment of stuff including a 1882 Gold $10 coin

from what I gather, in your short membership/post time (~ 1 month), you've gone from just starting, to your first clad dime, then to cool old tokens and colonial coppers, and now to a $10 gold. All in the space of a month. Can you shed a little bit of story on the type places you've so quickly gravitated up to and found to hunt ? And I gather from your past posts that you are an east coast hunter (NY area) right ? If so, you know that gold coins on the east coast EVEN FOR THE MOST HARDCORE hunters , is a rarity. (heck, they're a rarity in any state).

So can you shed a little light on the type sites you've so quickly graduated up to ? Eg.: park hunting ? old yards ? ruins/cellar-hole type spots ? coin-store ? etc.... As for "story": You can see from the other respondees thus far, that .... for show & tell, a bit of the play-by-play (story around it) is par for course here. Even if only to say: "a sidewalk tearout I saw in an old neighborhood", or "at an old park built in the 1920s side of our town", or "cellar hole in upstate new york I stumbled onto while walking my dog one day", etc....

Amazing find ! The magnitude of this find cries out for a well rounded story as to how/where it was found !

Tom, looks like he has been a member since 2014 but just recently started posting again.

As others have said, find of a lifetime, but we love the "back story"!!
