I went out to an old park I hit on occasion that I was told was a sportsmans club back in the twenties. I am not sure when it closed but it became a city park in the late 60s.

I have found in the past a silver Rosie I believe was 1951 and a few wheats from the 20s. One with a hole shot through it. Different gauges of headstamps. Nothing too big but definately signs of shooting activity.

Today I found 4 copper lincolns, 2 cartridges unmarked but maybe 30.06 ??? AND my first Buffalo. Very detailed date of 1937 but overall discolored probably from being deep in clay rather than soil. At least 6 inches. I am very excited though. Nothing like the first!!!!

Congratulations on your first Buffalo. That is a great find in itself, but it also means there should be more finds from the era.

Congrats on your first Buffalo! Especially one with a good date on it! Those are rare...and the ones with dates are very scarce...Ddf

Congrats on your first Buffalo. Finding one with a nice clear date is an accomplishment in itself. Most are pretty worn.

Congrats. I was pretty excited about my first buff, too. Any good coins seem to be rare as hen's teeth in my neck of the woods.
