Sorry late posting my girlfriend found this in a field haven't tested it yet but looks like an old gold crown with the tooth still in it. Any thoughts? 20170517_190751.jpg 20170517_190717.jpg

Looks like a gold crown to me. Not a lot of gold there but gold is gold.

If that's what it turns out to be, that's a sweet find! Congrats

Looks like a complete seal matrix to me man! Congrats!

Just kidding...

Many fillings are 16k, so it probably won't test to 18k unless it's very old. Why do I know this? I used to carry bodies to the morgue -

Kidding again.

Cheers

Nice find. Glad the head wasn't still connected to it.

Ok, here's what I would do....
Contact Dr. Aveni on Lincoln St, (next to Nathaniel Morton School)... he will confirm any suspicions you have...
After that....
Contact Dr. Edward Grimes at Jordan Hospital.
He is an Anatomical and Clinical Pathologist, he will tell you how old it is, as I believe he also has a background in Forensics.
