I have only been detecting for a little over a year now so I thought that it would be a good idea to checkout some spots that I had already worked now that I know my machine a lot better. Turns out that it wasn't such a bad idea after all. I found this 1832 half dime about six inches down and of course, it was all tangled up in roots. I took my time digging as to not damage the coin, what a beauty!

Awesome coin Mike, can't believe you jumped right over Seated to nab that beauty! You've had a good year so far, and keep coming across my bucket-listers...damn you! Based on your track record, I'd say a Pine Tree is in your near future. Congrats on a truly beautiful find, let's get out this weekend...

Awesome coin and nice job on the cleanup! What did you use to get it that shiny might I ask?

How I Clean Silver

Hello, all I did was take warm water and dish soap with enough baking soda to form a paste. I don't ever, ever rub the coin, I just kind of tap the coin between my fingers in a manner that allows the paste to "pull" the dirt free. I would of course never clean a key date at home.
