Hot day today.
We gridded for 3.5 hrs & completed the best area of the site. Sadly no silver, so that only leaves us 2 smaller annexes to try, both have a low chance of a silver, but it needs doing.
We have not only beat the 17 records we had off this field last year but we now have had the most Roman Bronzes found in the month of May. So we are on track for another good year.
12 Scrappies - The Carausius is not great but a rare coin we need; VICTORIA GERM (Victory over the Germans)
The Chi-Rho type this farmer likes, so they will get it.
We know we are not missing much because I dug a 14mm coin at 7 inches & when you get tiny Roman iron Hobnails your being careful to get it all.

Was this issued after the victory over the Saxon and Franconian tribes in the channel?
