So I am out on the farm and i decided to grid off small areas. I found a horse shoe and then a few shotgun head stamps then i hit a 92 on the vdi with a beautiful sound (different than aluminum can)....
it was under a half buried rotting tree.
I pulled digger and buried the digger into what was a tree in it last stages of composting into soil....
turned it over and there it was a beautifully 1907 half dollar... i scanned with my ATPro and another hit at 90... a 1914 quarter again and a 1914 half--- again about a 70 pops on screen -- a indian head penny--- then a wheat back --- 2 dimes and 2 more quarters...

BEST Silver Day Ever
ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1495984456.711926.jpg

the 1914 half is a S mint
the 1907 is from the O mind
the 06 and 14 quarters have no mint mark
the 09 quarter is D mint
both dimes have no mint mark
the wheat is definite 1909 but cannot see mint because of crap on it
the Indian is 1907

What a wicked coin spill! Finding a pile of 100+ year old coins all at once is such a thrill, big congrats. My biggest spill of old silver totalled $2.00, so I know how excited you must be!

Holy Cow Batman! I'd have been ready to faint I reckon. It takes most folks years to recover those type finds and you stumbled across them in one nice dig. Well done mate. I reckon the person that lost those coins was a bit upset about it. Real value to that spill.:notworthy:

Super silver spill with extras ! All of those Barber coins look like nice collectible examples. I'm sure that was a great experience for you. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent finds! You have made many of us envious of your good fortune. I haven't found anything close to this, but I used your post to illustrate to my digging buddy why I always check well around the edges of farm fields and rustic campsites. This is the type of spill possible when someone dropped trou to relieve himself.

Sounds like a very old coin spill that became somewhat scattered. Could be other reasons. Who knows. Congrats. Us in the western USA can only dream about finding this many silver coins in the same day. I never have.
